Our Repair Warranty

At Dorset Oven Repairs, we aim to provide reliable repairs using suitable replacement parts.

Where applicable, completed repairs and parts supplied by Dorset Oven Repairs are covered by a warranty relating to the original repair.

The warranty period may vary depending on:

- The type of repair completed
- The replacement component used
- The appliance brand and model
- The warranty provided by the parts supplier or manufacturer
- The age and overall condition of the appliance

The applicable warranty period and any relevant conditions will be explained when the repair is completed.

What the warranty covers

Where applicable, the warranty covers:

- The workmanship relating to the original repair
- A replacement part supplied and fitted by Dorset Oven Repairs
- A recurrence of the same fault where it is directly connected to the original repair

The warranty only applies to the specific work and components recorded on the original job.

What the warranty does not normally cover

The warranty does not automatically cover:

- A new or unrelated appliance fault
- Failure of a different component
- Misuse or incorrect operation
- Accidental or physical damage
- Electrical supply problems or power surges
- Water damage or liquid ingress
- Pest or insect damage
- Blocked ventilation or poor installation
- Damage caused by another person attempting a repair
- Parts supplied by the customer
- Cosmetic damage or normal wear and tear
- Commercial use unless agreed in advance
- Faults caused by continued use after the appliance became unsafe

Appliance condition

Older appliances may have several worn or deteriorating components.

Repairing one confirmed fault does not guarantee that another unrelated component will not fail later.

Where an appliance has additional concerns, significant wear or signs that further faults may develop, this will be explained where reasonably possible.

Inspection-only visits

An inspection or diagnostic visit does not include a repair warranty unless repair work is subsequently completed.

The inspection charge covers the engineer’s time, diagnosis and professional assessment of the appliance.

Customer-supplied parts

Parts supplied by the customer are not normally covered by the Dorset Oven Repairs parts warranty.

Any guarantee relating to a customer-supplied component remains with the original seller or manufacturer.

Where Dorset Oven Repairs agrees to fit a customer-supplied part, this should be confirmed before the appointment.

Making a warranty enquiry

If the same problem appears to return after a repair, the customer should contact Dorset Oven Repairs as soon as possible and provide:

- Name
- Repair address
- Appliance make and model
- Date of the original repair
- Description of the current problem
- Original invoice or job reference, where available

The issue will then be assessed against the original repair details and the warranty terms provided when the work was completed.

A warranty enquiry does not automatically confirm that the current fault is connected to the original repair.

Important dual-fuel cooker notice

Any warranty applies only to the electrical work completed by Dorset Oven Repairs.

Dorset Oven Repairs does not carry out or warranty work involving:

- Gas burners
- Gas valves
- Gas pipework
- Gas ignition systems requiring gas-side work
- Gas safety testing
- Any other gas components

Electrical repairs only. No gas work undertaken.
